On Saturday, a few members of our competition team visited residents at the Newlands Care Home in Heaton Moor. We were invited as part of their ‘Through the Decades’ celebration and the girls performed some of their competition solos and duets for the residents, who were delighted with the afternoon’s entertainment.
We selected numbers that represented different decades and some with familiar songs the residents would recognise and be able to sing along with. Our Andy Pandy duet was a firm favourite with the residents! We finished our performance off with a group number to a mowtown medley and afterwards, were able to chat with the residents about their past experiences, including one resident who was a former dance teacher.
It was a lovely afternoon well spent and all the girls represented the school fantastically, adapting to their surroundings and bringing a smile to their audience. Well done girls!
