We had a fantastic time at the NATD Theatrical Scholarship Finals that were held in Birmingham this weekend.
Having competed in the Northern Area Heats in July earlier in the year, we had two students representing BSA in the nationwide finals, Freya and Olivia. Freya qualified in 3 of the Inter sections, Ballet, Modern and Tap whilst Olivia qualified for the Senior Tap final. Both girls had to perform a solo routine in the specified sections consisting of over 20 competitors from across the country.
We are delighted to announce that Freya won the Inter Tap Scholarship section and was crowned the Champion! She performed her tap routine choreographed by Miss Julie beautifully and dazzled the adjudicators. Freya also came runner up in the Inter Modern Scholarship section and placed highly in the Inter Ballet section aswell, showing her true capabilities as an all round performer.
Olivia danced fantastically well in a tough Senior Tap Scholarship section and placed highly with her routine. She represented the senior end of BSA school beautifully and showed her excellent tap skills.
We are very proud of how both girls performed under the pressure and represented BSA fantastically well, being true role models for our younger students. We’d like to thank the NATD for the opportunities given and for putting on an excellent event which showcased great talent from across the UK.
