Welcome to Bates Stage Academy
Established in 1947 by Joan Bates, we are the longest running stage and dance school in Stockport and have taught hundreds of pupils with many going on to professional contracts.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the magic of dance, regardless of age, background or ability. All of our classes are taught in a safe and fun learning environment where we can help pupils to grow in technique and confidence.

Gorgeous family run academy for dancing, drama and fun! Our kids have enjoyed all styles of dance and theatre from being tiny; starting with toddler dancing, freestyle street dancing at 4 years, theatre as they’ve got older, tap and modern and lots in between. Lead by a very caring family where every child is made to feel special and shines.
Bates Stage Academy is the best dance school to have spent 15 years growing up with. I have made the most amazing memories and the best of friends. It has been a second home where I have been supported and comfortable to be myself. I will be forever grateful to BSA for the experiences that have helped me become the person I am today.
